How to Split a Pill Without a Pill Splitter
Sometimes you may need to cut a pill in half in order to get the right dosage, but what if you don't have a pill splitter handy? If your pill is safe to split (ask your pharmacist first!), you can attempt to use a clean, sharp knife or even a razor blade on a flat surface. Place the pill in the center of a folded paper towel so that it won't slip, and press down firmly and evenly. Some pills can also be split by applying pressure on both ends of the pill with your thumbs.
